The first open amateur competition using the eFootball™ series sees xNaples17x take the Xbox title from the European bracket
Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. is proud to share the results of this year’s eFootball™ Championship Open, a competition that saw some of the world’s best eFootball™ players come together, vying for the title in their region and platform.
The eFootball™ Championship Open is an amateur competition that players all across the world are free to take part in. The competition was split into three geographical regions: Asia, Oceania, and other areas; Europe & Africa; the Americas.
Each region then held four brackets for the different platforms used including: PlayStation®, Xbox, PC Steam®, and Mobile. Six players per platform (two per region) advanced to the World Finals.
Every year the competition serves as a gateway for amateur players to display their skills to pro clubs, with notable stories of former competitors being signed after their successes in the Open. This year’s eFootball™ Championship Pro contained former Open players as Galatasaray’s Mucahit, AS Roma’s Gagliardo28, and tournament MVP, AS Monaco’s Nezka.
The World Finals saw a set of 1v1 final match-ups from the final six on each platform, culminating in our four victorious players. The winners on each platform are as follows:
- PlayStation® – Futefacil10
- Xbox – xNaples17x
- PC Steam® – Verdy_Takaki_
- Mobile – ig_asgard_azizi
xNaples17x, the Italian winner of the Xbox bracket, commented on the tournament saying: ‘I am very excited about this great experience. It was very difficult for me as I was playing against very strong players, so the satisfaction is even greater’.
