REVIEW : Made Beaver (PC)

The inventory manager and simulation of the 18th-century fur trade is Made Beaver. The goal is to establish a successful commerce network across North America, starting with a little hut on the coast. The Trade window is where most of the action happens, where players trade products and furs with countless tribes, villages, and free people.

REVIEW : Made Beaver (PC)
  • – Exchange imported products for furs that will afterwards be sold at auction at home. Plan for the worse and hope for the best because the markets can be unpredictable.
  • – Trade with the tribes’ rivals while maintaining a good reputation with the tribes.
  • – Increase the size of your forts to increase your trading potential and your defences against unreliable tribes.
  • – Allow settlements to get items with a double profit margin from China and the Sandwich Islands.
  • – Unlock the Panama Canal to speed up transoceanic transport by several months.
  • Play as either the United States, Canada, France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, or Sweden.

Some dev history:

REVIEW : Made Beaver (PC)

The main objective of Made Beaver, a solitary production effort by a young PC game creator, is historical accuracy. All facets of the game world underwent countless hours of research:

  • – Travel periods and trade routes
  • – Products and costs
  • – Delivery charges
  • – Wildlife populations and ranges
  • – Tribal populations and territories
  • – Population density and settlement sites

Progress is being made to perfect the little things, fix mistakes, and enhance the user experience.

The good:

I appreciate the idea, the time period, and the attempt at realism being produced. Is it entirely accurate? Most likely not. However, it does make an effort—a serious one—and it is sincere. Even if there are other trading games on Steam, this one is unique, and the novelty is wonderful since trading games are, after all, trade games. I enjoy that there are two types of currency: cash with Europeans/Freemen and credit to and from the Indians. The addition is wonderful.

REVIEW : Made Beaver (PC)

The meh: It’s a bit too haphazard. You are definitely bargaining for trapped fur with the Native Americans; not every hunting season will be the same. the countries, You can choose from a variety of nationalities to represent or play as; doing so grants you advantages or disadvantages. Despite the fact that I can understand the concept, some components of realism are lost.

REVIEW : Made Beaver (PC)

The drawback is that you can accumulate a sizable debt without anyone seeming to notice. Okay, maybe this is reasonable; after all, what will a tribe of 100 people do to your enormous stone fortress? Most likely not too much, but I’m not sure how realistic I find it with Europeans. I suppose this is comparable to the credit system?
