Artist behind “Regret” creates her first art book
Drawly, the artist who gained world-wide popularity with her painting “Regret”, has begun working on her first art book. It is titled “Upside / Downside” and the paintings within are to recreate the wide range of emotions she has experienced.
The art book will be divided into two opposing halves:”If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that we are woven by our duality. We would not know happiness were it not for sadness. It’s those zig-zagging feelings and their rich contrast that let us know we are alive. Just as our own emotions, the two halves of my art book are going to oppose each other. You’ll have to flip the book all the way around to see the other side of the scope.”
In order to bring her dream to life, Drawly turns to the Internet for help on her Patreon page. Patreon is a crowdfunding platform where everyone can spend a few bucks to become a patron, supporting various artistic projects such as Drawly’s.
25-year-old Drawly, whose real name is Yoanna Viktorova, has engaged in painting since she was little, and her biggest dream has always been the same – to release her own art book. Now she believes that with some help this dream could very well become reality.
“I’ve held a pencil in my hand for as long as I can remember. For me, drawing and painting are the purest, simplest of ways to convey one’s thoughts, desires and emotions. Therefore, this book would be my dream come true!“, Drawly says.
