| Beamdog adds cross-play and new languages to the classic board game |
| Video game developer Beamdog just launched Axis & Allies 1942 Online to iPads, with cross-play support for iPadOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux. The strategy classic is available now from Steam for $19.99 USD, and the App Store for $9.99 USD. Beamdog confirmed plans to launch on Android tablets later this year. Originally released to Steam Early Access in July 2019, Axis & Allies 1942 Online, is an official digital adaptation of Avalon Hill’s tabletop classic, Axis & Allies 1942 Second Edition— a turn-based strategy game in which players act as World War II powers on either side of the conflict: the United States, United Kingdom, and Soviet Union form the Allies, while Germany and Japan make up the Axis. Beamdog Producer, Dan Grieg, has seen the game progress from its first playable build. |

| Grieg confirmed game accounts sync across devices, so players can switch between platforms to take turns, view their statistics, and create games. Multiplayer is similarly cross-platform, so custom games and ranked matchmaking can include players on iPadOS, Windows, macOS or Linux operating systems. |

| “I’ve wanted to get Axis & Allies 1942 Online on my tablet since the project’s inception,” said Oster. “My goal has always been to adapt the tabletop experience for fans like me— people who love Axis & Allies, but don’t always have time for the full board game. With the Steam version, we’d already reduced a ton of barriers to diving in: there’s no setup or cleanup, and you can take turns at your own pace. The tablet version offers even more freedom to play, since I take my iPad everywhere.” |

Axis & Allies 1942 Online is now available in eight languages, including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese.
