Cooperative Puzzler Pode to Launch on PlayStation 4 February 19th

Independent developer Henchman & Goon today announced that their co-op exploration game, Pode, is coming to the PlayStation™ Store on February 19th. Giving center stage to teamwork, Pode positions players as heavily contrasting characters who need to work in sync using their distinct abilities to solve intricate puzzles and bring the world to life around them.

We think of Pode as a game for everyone. Whether you play it with your child, a friend or a significant other, it has something for all,”  said Yngvill Hopen, Game Director and CEO at Henchman & Goon. “Since the launch on Nintendo Switch last year we’ve been getting loads of positive feedback from our players and we are excited to bring Pode to the PlayStation Store so that even more people can try out this bonding experience.

Pode is a co-op puzzle exploration game about two unlikely travel companions, a rock Bulder and a fallen star Glo, going on a beautiful adventure within a mysterious and magical mountain. Through unique individual talents the duo revitalize the environment around them by working together to solve mind-bending puzzles. Featuring a musical track composed by the acclaimed Austin Wintory and visually inspired by Norwegian art and culture, Pode is a stunning exploration game that can be played alone or with a friend.

Pode won the development award for the Best Casual Game and was selected as a nominee for the People’s Choice Awards, for the Best Quality of Art in GameConnection 2018, and recently won three national awards in Norway for “Best Art”, “Best Audio” and “Best Fun for Everyone” nominations. But the team is most proud of the grandest prize of them all, which is the praise from Captain Marvel, herself, Brie Larsson (see tweet).  For more information, visit: www.podegame.com

Next month Henchman & Goon CEO Yngvill Hopen will be giving a talk at GDC under a title ‘Pode’, a Rose Painted Adventure. Attendees will gain insight into the visual development of ‘Pode’, and how traditional Norwegian art and cultural influences helped shape the atmospheric world in which it takes place. They will also get an understanding of the biggest challenges the team faced during development, and how they approached and overcame them. Follow Pode on social media:
