Rising Star Games announced today that the Kickstarter campaign for Deadly Premonition: The Board Game has smashed its funding goal of $50,000 in just eight hours and 14 minutes. Fans of the cult video game Deadly Premonition flocked to the Kickstarter page Tuesday morning and the project was quickly funded. Currently, the campaign is over 150% funded and the amount pledged is sitting at more than $80,500 and continues to grow.

Check out the Kickstarter page, which features additional information, including: pledge levels, stretch goals, FAQs, videos and much more. The page will be updated with exciting developments as the campaign progresses.

Deadly Premonition: The Board Game is based upon the memorably offbeat characters, creepy locations and unsettling events that unfold in the 2007 cult classic videogame Deadly Premonition, from acclaimed game developer Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro. The board game is created and devised as a passion project by Samuel Elphick and Daniel Osuna Perez, two members of the Rising Star Games team, and has Swery’s full blessing.

Deadly Premonition fans and board gamers are invited to journey to the town of Greenvale once again, and don the sharp suits and quick wits of police detectives in the wake of Anna Graham’s murder, at the hands of the nightmarish Raincoat Killer. Full details about the flow of gameplay, the rules, the different types of cards and their effects, can be found at the Kickstarter page:
