Rooster Teeth Veteran Eric Duncan Joins as Head of Marketing

Erin Schendle Brings 20-Plus Years in Media Sales to SVP of Sales and Partnerships Role

Texas-based esports and entertainment company Envy Gaming announced two senior executives hired to newly created positions that will bolster and scale Envy’s sales and marketing efforts. Eric Duncan joins as Envy’s head of marketing from Rooster Teeth, where he led marketing for the digital media company during a period of rapid online and community growth. Erin Schendle joins Envy as senior vice president of sales and partnership with two decades of media sales experience, having most recently worked with TEGNA and WFAA.

Together, Duncan and Schendle will lead Envy in its strategic collaboration with leading brands, entertainment properties, media organizations and personalities, and new ventures.

“Eric and Erin are proven leaders with success at each step in their careers building innovative programs and new ways for larger and larger audiences to engage with the content and brands that they love,” said Envy Gaming CEO Adam Rymer. “We’re excited to add them to our talented leadership team in North Texas at a pivotal moment for Envy as we expand our role at the intersection of gaming, entertainment and technology.”

Envy, which includes more than 100 employees, professional esports players and content creators, announced a $40 million Series C investment round earlier this year. The organization launched the Envy creator network nine months ago and owns and operates franchise teams the Dallas Fuel in the Overwatch League and the Dallas Empire in the Call of Duty League.

Duncan will lead all marketing and teams including audience development, campaign planning, creator relationships, design, digital, merchandise, paid media, public relations, social media, and Envy’s membership and fan loyalty programs. An experienced brand marketer with six years leading Rooster Teeth as vice president of marketing, Duncan has spent 20 years in digital entertainment and gaming. His previous roles include leadership positions at Sony Online Entertainment and iNDEMAND, plus agency work on behalf of clients Take-Two Interactive, Vivendi Universal Games, EA, Scholastic Entertainment and more.

“Envy is the preeminent organization at the intersection of content, the creator economy, esports competition and live event production,” said Duncan. “I’m eager to help take the Envy brand to the next level in becoming a household name.”

Schendle will manage Envy’s sales and activation teams, working to develop and implement sponsorship programs, partnership integrations and licensing opportunities across all of Envy’s channels, brands, competitive teams, players, events and retail footprint. An accomplished sales leader with deep roots in North Texas, she previously led sales for broadcast, digital and integrated marketing at The Ticket and Cumulus Media, CBS Radio, Clear Channel and, most recently, TEGNA and WFAA. Schendle, who has a passion for helping others and experience as a nonprofit fundraising director, will also help build out the Envy Foundation, a 501(c)(3) created by leaders at Envy Gaming in 2021 to empower communities through access to STEM and gaming experiences.

“Gaming and esports are the most rapidly growing form of entertainment. Navigating that space for brands with a trusted industry pioneer like Envy is an amazing opportunity,” said Schendle.
