Today we want to announce our next update – From Russia With Love. It will be hitting the stores on August 23!
In this update, we’ve decided to focus on the core gameplay mechanics of Cartel Tycoon. We want our game to be “easy to learn, hard to master,” and not just “hard.” That’s why we’re introducing multiple reworks to our logistics, a full tutorial, and so much more. From Russia With Love Update
- Complete Story Released!! New characters, storylines, and rewards!
- Revamped Logistics. Flexible filters for cargo, Warehouse and Workshop overhaul, and brand new Transportation Company building
- Dynamic Supply and Demand. The prices are now affected by your actions
- River Pier. A new way to smuggle the goods!

- Full Tutorial. Basics of Cartel Tycoon explained step-by-step.
- With this update, we’re adding our next chapter to Story Mode of Cartel Tycoon. It’s an entirely new campaign called “That Sinking Feeling.” Your Capo will meet a Columbian playboy, a Russian gangster, and a “businesswoman” from Miami. You all want the same thing – to achieve your wildest dreams. Can you trust them enough to do it together? That’s for you to decide. Your relationships with these characters will directly impact how this story plays out and what will be waiting for you at the end of the journey. A friend by your side and a region at your feet? A personal helicopter and your own submarine? Or a bullet in the back and an empire in flames.
- We’ve gathered your feedback and reworked our logistics gameplay loop to make it much more enjoyable and easier to understand and control. A new building is added to the mix, and we’ve reworked some old ones. More details in this devlog episode (link)
- We’ve added dynamic prices to illegal products, and your actions directly affect them. It means that you’ll have to adapt and modify your empire to bring more profit. We think that this feature makes the gameplay more fun and interactive for the players, even those of you who thought they’ve already figured out the best way to become rich in Cartel Tycoon.
- River Pier is a new type of smuggling point coming to the game. It’s already on the map, you just need to capture and upgrade it to start using it. Upper tiers of this new building are Global Unlocks from the upcoming campaign in Story Mode!
- Two new types of Residences are coming to the game. Castle Residence makes the life of your Capo easier by giving him a helicopter, and Collectors Residence makes the life of your lieutenants easier – by giving them faster cars.
- The overwhelming demand for a more detailed step-by-step tutorial made us realize we have to shift our plans and deliver it right now. We’ll be waiting for your feedback to make it even better.
Those who closely follow the development process may find that many features mentioned above weren’t on our Roadmap for the August Update. The reason for that being that we wanted to focus our attention on the core gameplay of Cartel Tycoon and make it as enjoyable and fluid as possible – for new players and veteran Capos alike.
This shift means that we have to postpone the release of the fully-functioning Special Buildings. We understand that this might frustrate you, but we decided that it is more important to make the core mechanics and approachability of the game better before adding something that doesn’t directly impact the gameplay. We’re working on the buildings, don’t worry, and we’re making them even more “special,” they will be a part of the future updates – just not this one.
