Two prestigious awards for ARTE’s video game “Inua – A Story in Ice and Time”, including Apple’s Cultural Impact award

Co-produced and edited by ARTE France, the video game Inua – A Story in Ice and Time was named yesterday as the winner of the Cultural Impact Award by Apple and also received the Best Story Award at the Google Play Best Of 2022. Both an initiatory tale and a journalistic investigation, the video game released at the beginning of the year is an invitation to explore the mysteries of the great Canadian North.
Inua – A Story of Ice and Time, was awarded the Cultural Impact Award yesterday by Apple at the 2022 AppStore Awards held at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. These awards are given in different categories to 15 applications and video games, from studios around the world.ARTE’s video game has also just won a prize awarded by Google in the “Google Play Best of 2022”: it is the winner of the “Best Story” category in Europe.
Previously selected in the “Most innovative” category at Games for Change and in the “Best independent game” category at the Gamescom Awards 2021, Inua – A Story in Ice and Time also won the “Best audio” award at the Big Festival. 
These two new awards recognize ARTE’s efforts in creating unique narrative works.

  • An extraordinary story, influenced by Inuit tales and legends, based on extensive research with Inuit artists and with the participation of Inuit advisors and author
  • Original puzzles focusing on the manipulation of space and time
  • A game conceived by the creators of Bury me my love and Vignettes, adapted from an original story by Nathalie Frassoni and Frédéric Bouvier in collaboration with Inuit author Thomassie Mangiok and consultants Billy Gauthier and Monica Ittusardjuat, under the breathtaking artistic direction of Delphine Fourneau of the Klondike collective.
