Lava Games Opens Early Testing Sign-ups for Ambitious Debut Title, A Far Away Realm
Supported by EA founder Trip Hawkins and funded by Makers Fund, Lava Games is a brand-new studio with a global team that consists of veteran developers from leading companies like Riot, EA, Dice, and more. Lava Games has now opened sign-ups for alpha testing for its debut project, A Far Away Realm, with limited founder packs available to the initial 1000 players – granting early access, perpetual founder status, and hi-res posters signed by the dev team.

Beginning development in mid-2020, A Far Away Realmis an arcade, third-person hero-based platform shooter. Once you have chosen your adorable character, embark across many of the universe’s quirky planets complete with shiny crystals and bubbly flowers to battle opponents online using powerful abilities. Stripped-back controls combined with explosive mechanics and wacky physics allow for pinball-esque bounce to every step you take.
“In A Far Away Realm, not only have we designed visually stunning worlds and charming hero characters, but we’ve also dedicated particular attention to the gameplay’s mechanics and feel,” explains Kaya Tilev, Lava Games founder and Creative Director. “Imagine the signature ‘slide and bounce’ of your favourite 3D platformer, reimagined as a bubbly multiplayer shooter for players of all ages – enjoyed either nonchalantly or competitively.”
Featuring a fresh approach, stylish visuals and an idyllic colour palette, A Far Away Realm is an otherworldly title easy on the eyes that is perfectly geared towards players, streamers, and viewers alike. The team-based gambol also ditches violence, gore, and nudity to be fun for all the family.
