Piece Together Jessika’s Broken Psyche in New Developer Diary for the Upcoming Investigative FMV Game

The tragic story of Jessika will soon be known to all — the thrilling investigative Full Motion Video (FMV) game will launch on Windows, Mac, and Linux via Steam next Tuesday, August 25, 2020. Today, publisher Assemble Entertainment shares another behind-the-scenes developer diary and this time, we take a look inside of the titular character’s troubled psyche through the eyes of her creators.

In the developer diary, TriTrie Games developers showcase how the team did extensive research to find the right actress to portray Jessika. The developers explain how the current political climate and real-world events helped shape the story of Jessika, which ultimately led to the perfect casting. From the beginning, the TriTrie Games team had a vision: portray Jessika as a completely normal person and find someone who perfectly embodies this vision.

While more than 50 women from all over Germany applied for the part, it was theatre and film actress Lisa Sophie Kusz who took home the leading role. The team explains how Lisa’s creative freedom allowed her to take an active role in various creative processes. As Lisa became more and more familiar with the project and the character, she was able to add extra depth to the emotional passages of the game.

“We didn’t want to portray Jessika as a complete psychopath, but rather, someone completely normal and capable of expressing themselves,” said Sarah Abouzari, Programmer, TriTrie Games.

A demo for Jessika is now available on Steam.

Convinced of foul play, Jessika’s father has hired you to uncover the truth about her untimely death. What appears to be a textbook suicide — at least, at first — may prove to be your career-defining moment. With only your laptop and an unrivaled determination for unearthing the truth, you’ll need to dig through the victim’s extensive digital footprint to locate clues and keywords embedded within Jessika’s tangled online presence to piece together what really happened.

Developed by TriTrie Games and published by Assemble Entertainment, Jessika arrives on Steam via Windows, Steam OS, Mac, and Linux on August 25, 2020, and will retail for $12.49 USD. Players can wishlist the game by visiting the official Jessika Steam store page, here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1251980/Jessika.
