Brazil Games’ Eliana Russi Speaks on Rapidly Growing Brazilian Game Development Scene During PocketGamer Connects 2020

Tomorrow, for the first time ever, Brazil Games’ Eliana Russi will present at the Pocket Gamer Connects digital event in Helsinki, Finland to speak about the future of the gaming industry and the astounding growth and talent coming out of Brazil. On September 16, Russi, Executive Manager for the Brazil Games Export Program — a program created by the Brazilian Game Companies Association, ABRAGAMES, in partnership with Apex-Brasil, the Brazilian Trade, and Investment Promotion Agency —  will present to industry professionals who have registered to attend the conference. Russi will discuss the extensive reasons why Brazil has experienced such explosive growth in the gaming industry and how developers and publishers can use this upward trend to their advantage.

Russi will offer tips on how to successfully launch a title in Brazil, along with a bevy of biz-dev advice — like how Brazil has managed to become such a Garden of Eden for the Indie scene. Russi will also shine a light on some of the amazing recent successes from award-winning Brazilian Indie studios like Double Dash Studios, ARVORE Immersive Experiences, Rogue Snail, Aquiris, and more. This presentation will also provide opportunities for attendees and business development partners to see why Brazil is the go-to region for game development in 2020 and beyond.

Brazil is currently the 13th largest video game creation market in the world, with more than 120 Indie studios — up from only 12 in 2012 — and a current growth rate of 13.5 percent annually. Brazil’s local industry accounts for $1.6 billion USD of the world’s video game-related revenue and the country makes up a whopping 42 percent of all e-commerce in Latin America. When it comes to conferences, BIG Festival is Latin America’s largest and most important gaming festival, and the recent all-online edition, BIG Digital, featured 333 companies from 38 countries registered on the business platform, 70 speakers, and over 3,800 scheduled meetings.
