PREVIEW : Catch Me! (PC)

The most action-packed game of tag you’ve ever played with your buddies, Catch Me! is a competitive online platformer for 4 players. Use interactives to impact society. To stop your pursuers, create a fresh escape route, or simply stun them, close the windows.

A game of tag can start anywhere and at any time, whether it’s in the United States, Europe, Asia, or even the Middle East.

The objective of each player is to advance unnoticed to specific points on the map.

The other players chase the runner and attempt to catch him. If they do, the runner is created. Simple, enjoyable, and as quick as it can be

Jump out of windows, scale Ferris wheels or house roofs, or even go subway surfing. Each level is unique and functions like a racetrack in a racing game.

Compete with others online to see who finishes with the highest scores. Create your runner using skins, emojis, or animations to prove you are the fastest and most skilled “tag player” in the entire world.

You receive new graphic material EVERY TWO WEEKS, so it’s always the case that talent wins out over style.

The first version includes four single-screen, highly zoomed-out maps. Your characters are like little figures moving around in a toy world since they all share the same characteristics and skills. While America has a subway train that, if you jump on it, can move you across the screen, Greece and Germany are more like buildings with levels and stairs to go through. The London level includes rotating platforms for the London Eye. You have two tasks to complete.

You must parkour your way through the level, touching the golden statues, if you begin the round as “it,” to earn points. If you are chasing someone, you must touch them to stop them. If you do it, you turn into it and start running toward those statues. The winner is the first person to score ten points.

Because everyone has the same ability level, even though it is simple, it works. Parkour involves moving from platform to platform while running, jumping, sliding, and descending. Arcs can be made shorter or longer for speed or length when you jump or wall jump. You have the option to leap up, force a platform door open onto someone’s face, then land back down and run away.

Even better, use level-specific special buttons to electrocute them. That is the degree of difficulty. Although it’s low, Catch Me! succeeds so well because of this. The foundation has a strong beginning.

More content is what Catch Me! right now needs. It’s wonderful and necessary that three more maps are planned. However, fully functional bots and local multiplayer are much more essential. Catch Me! only allows one person per machine and requires internet play first at the moment. Due to the indie game’s specialised nature, nobody is playing it online. For online to work, you’ll need to set up appropriate meet-ups. In single-player mode, there are bots accessible, however, they frequently just stand still, unsure of what to do, and do nothing. It’s easy as pie. This mode must be included for Catch Me! to truly be a worthwhile purchase to gain a full recommendation. Catch Me! is pure golden local multiplayer pandemonium. Currently, a level-up system for customization options is available for daily XP tasks like playing 5 games. This is good, however, after a few hours, you run out of unlockables.

Since Catch Me!’s core gameplay is party casualness condensed into a brief, intense burst of enjoyment, I truly like it. It just needs some further modes and content to be a complete package, and it will then be a fantastic addition to the multiplayer pantheon. A wonderful palate cleanser.
