PREVIEW : V Rising (PC)
Build a castle, embark on a vampire hunt, and conquer the land. Rule the living earth in a medieval cooperative survival game. V Rising is a gameplay mechanic with an open world, foundation and manufacturing, PvPvE, solo play, and co-op that fits perfectly into a certain Steam Venn diagram.
Reawaken as a frail vampire after centuries of hibernation. While hiding from the blazing sun, hunt for blood in nearby communities to regain your strength. The screams of our detainees, whom we retain as a handy blood center, resonate throughout our dungeon. Meanwhile, we’re making our way to a nearby village to recruit fresh servants. Since we’ve already terrorised them, they’re planting garlic to protect themselves. We return to our monster castle in the morning, weary and with a freshly smitten worker in tow, and take breaks in our tomb.
Plunder villages, fight bandit camps, and uncover the worlds of strange beasts while exploring a vast open world with or without friends. You must construct your stronghold and convert people into loyal followers in order to expand your vampire empire. Make online alliances and start wars against the other players in a war-torn world. The gothic designs were a godsend because they made adding beautiful stone walls, lavish furnishings and lighting, windows, and a boatload of other fascinating aspects (such as gargoyle sculptures) a snap. When it comes to crafting materials, the game’s crafts aren’t completely new. The best part was that it revealed which materials would need to be entered into a Workbench or Refinement facility to get the right output material or item.
Reawaken as a fragile Vampire in a hazardous world after years of sleep. After being stripped of your terrible talents and starving for blood, you must hunt to refill your power and fight for your life. I quickly saw that it was simple to bob-and-weave within the shadows of the region’s bushes and foliage in V Rising, making it punishing for players who wanted to go outside in the sun. The ability to consume blood is, of course, another feature of vampires. I became enraged when I drank the blood of werewolves or human foes.
Avoid being burned to a crisp by the sun by hiding in the shadows during the day. Stalk and prey on your target in the depths of night. As a vampire, you must satisfy your bloodlust while planning day and night.
After dusk, use your skills to track down your target in the dark. Explore an open world with allies or alone, plundering communities, raiding bandits, and diving into the territories of mysterious beasts. This new level of difficulty was fantastic, and the dash was a fantastic cooldown move. The brief dash creates a shadow clone, which allows me to swap aggro to the shadow and get out of tricky situations.
You can customise your vampire to fit your play style by combining weaponry with a variety of spells earned by slaying strong foes. Raid other players’ castles or become a diplomat in this game of murder, power, and betrayal. You can choose to compete or collaborate. If you like more difficult levelling schemes, this one should be straightforward because the game encourages players to improve their health as they progress through the main questline, and the missions encourage them to do so.
I’m a sucker for a great soundtrack in anything from movies to video games, and I was aware that this was a limited early access beta, so I would have preferred to hear a greater variety of background music, especially when entering new parts or facing mini bosses. The alluring saxophone music in the UI and hints of it in-game, on the other hand, I really liked!
Construct your stronghold and flaunt your vampiric style. Decorate your halls to the nines, become the envy of your zombie friends, and reign supreme over your dark domain from your regal throne. A well-thought-out survival game! I can say this because I’ve played the other popular games in the genre. It’s amazing how many details have been thought about and incorporated to the point that they “just feel right.” Combat is fluid and enjoyable to play, and the talents are diverse enough to accommodate a wide range of play styles. Bring your family members back to your fortress and convert them into undead mercenaries. Your loyal servants can either die defending your home or you can send them out to gather important materials so you don’t have to.
