REVIEW : Ashina: The Red Witch: Prologue (PC)

Hey, guys, today will be talking about Ashina the red witch. This game is developed by strange games and published by grabbing the games and electronic games LLC the same company who made games like a red bow, just ignore them, my big sister etc. the game was released in July 2020 for platforms like Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation Vita. So if you have been a fan of this series you will probably enjoy this game too. This game continues to be a piece of the story that’s been spread across all these games. There are little bits and pieces like little recurring characters, some elements, things that will be mentioned and if you have played the previous games you might know that Ashina was in one of them, that you will notice, these pieces are trying to tie the game to the larger story which is spread across games. You will need to remember a lot to connect the dots of how these games tie to each other.

Let’s start with the backstory of the game. So as described by the developers the story is about an ordinary girl named ash. She takes on a journey through the mysterious spirit world which is filled with strange creatures. Ash needs to find her back way back home. Ashina The red witch hunter is a game based on exploration and story adventure game. In the game, you will use different items to solve puzzles as well as you will be conversing with various characters to dig deep into the story. In the game, you will be put in the feet of ash after which you will be solving different puzzles. And this is pretty much it. You will be seeing some stuff that will link this game to other games but this is the complete story of the game.

REVIEW : Ashina: The Red Witch: Prologue (PC)

The game does look so good, the game surely gives a nostalgic feeling of being a kid and playing games with such graphics of Nintendo or ps1 the is based on pixel graphic design which is quite good I’ll say and really up to the mark. The game has no narration and sound effects are like something straight out of the 80s. Every time a character is saying something you will have to read the dialogue box that pops on your screen with weird sounds. The sound effects are just plain weird and not something that will impress you. Every time you open the menu there is a beeping sound which starts to irritate me to the extent that I muted the system. Some of you may like these sound effects but being brutally honest I didn’t.

REVIEW : Ashina: The Red Witch: Prologue (PC)

From what all I can see the game is quite well-executed, with some good one-line punches to keep the interest as the game is a prologue there will be a lot of reading. I think they should add narration and give voices to the characters. The game requires a minimum configuration of 500M ram, any processor, 15MB storage space and after reading these specifications there is not much to say about graphics and frame rates.

REVIEW : Ashina: The Red Witch: Prologue (PC)

The game was/is going through saving issues so if you want to play the game again you will have to start from the very beginning and not from any point that you like this issue with the game-saving made me play this game in 1 go which ended up being exhausting. One of the flaws that need to be rectified for the full version is the flaws in UI elements which I believe need a lot of improvement. The demo version will not take much time to finish and to find out if you are intrigued by the concept of e game or not. The story of the game is well explained and written. I have to give them credit for the story and the description fits the game perfectly. The version available as a demo game is interesting but yes there are flaws that I think should be rectified before the full version rolls out. I think this game has really good potential but only when flaws are removed and the game is refined even more.
