REVIEW : Battle Princess Madelyn (PS4 and Steam)
Battle Princess Madelyn is a retro style indie platformer and is a happy reminder of the games of old. The story too is quite similar to older games. Madelyn accompanied by her ghost dog and is on an adventure to stop evil wizard.
Along the adventure you will face bosses and different terrains which from the start are difficult to tackle. The early levels act as tutorial but still are hard enough that you will die a lot. Past the opening stages after you have learned all the basic skills, you will enjoy the well-designed levels of the game. Your companion ghost dog Fritzy can revive Madelyn whenever she dies but only a few times.
The combat is fast with unlimited spear ammo with better weapons available later in the story. Story mode is quite challenging but the real fun begins in Arcade mode where you earn as many points as possible. Here armor and weapons are easier to come by and killing enemies is just a breeze.
