Crackdown 3 was first revealed 5 years ago showing off cloud power and now when it has released it is more of crackdown and rather than a tech showcase. Is this a bad thing? Read more to find out.

REVIEW : Crackdown 3 (XBOX one X)

Sumo Digital has gone through a long development cycle to put out a crackdown which feels the same as old games rather than a generation defining game. Throwing tanks around the map is fun but gets boring soon.

REVIEW : Crackdown 3 (XBOX one X)

The game begins with Terry Crews giving speech to new recruits with the mission to bring down TerraNova. Soon a sneak attack kills all the soldiers and you have to start over with just a pistol but soon you will start jumping across roof tops and toping up your abilities with orbs.

REVIEW : Crackdown 3 (XBOX one X)

You will soon gain access to world map and you will be completing activities and chasing orbs. The variety is there in missions but not sufficient to be bored from the game. Propaganda towers add a bit of variety acting as platforming towers but fall flat as you do number of them.

Combat is very hectic with the screen filled with explosions and enemies every second and bullets flying all over the place. Though all of this happening at the same time Crackdown 3 is very easy game and also features an auto lock mechanism.

REVIEW : Crackdown 3 (XBOX one X)

The best part about Crackdown 3 is the ability to increase the abilities of your agent. Abilities like Agility, driving, explosives, melee and fire arms. With these abilities come super powers like transforming your car in to all terrain buggy along with super jump and pound the ground ability.

The story is dull and lifeless similar to Crackdown 3 world. There is no motive of removing the TerraNova organization or explanation of their wrong doing.

Wrecking Zone is the best part of Crackdown 3 and is totally separate from the main game. You fight with other players in a large area which is highly destructible. Multiplayer is total fun and you should definitely try it if you get bored of the main game.

review-crackdown-3-xbox-one-xCrackdown 3 is more of the same of a 12-year-old original Crackdown. It feels the same too but in 2019 that is not acceptable. With long development cycle Sumo Digital did well to release a decent game but it is just not enough as other open world games are doing it better what Crackdown 3 set out to do.
