EX skills are the special abilities hit enemies with harmful status effects or buff up your allies. Dissidia ties experience to every character, so you would have to play with each and every one of them to master. Further, Summons are core component of every fight. You can choose from variety of summons prior to battle and then players get to vote when online. Every summon is a spectacle to look at. Summons can turn the tables during battle by dealing heavy damage. Summons are triggered by attacking core which randomly pop up on the battlefield. This makes every battle very dynamic.

Dissidia has optional loot box like mechanic for cosmetic items. Every battle leaves you with some gils to spend on cosmetic items. The amount of skins, icons and voiced dialogues available is insane and shows the dedication towards Final Fantasy franchise.

The story is small but enjoyable and is filled with spectacular moments.
The characters from Final Fantasy act as warriors for goddess Materia fighting against evil that is going to engulf the world. The cutscenes are silly but fun and add so much personality to the game.

Items known as Memoria are required to unlock new scenes and story missions, which can be earned by playing online or gauntlet mode. This way you can get better at the game whilst getting more story out of the game. Extra Scenarios are unlocked in Gauntlet mode as you progress through the story. The scenarios force you to play with certain characters which is neat as you might not choose those characters normally and this way you get to experience other characters as well.
