REVIEW : HARTS ISLAND (PC)

HARTS ISLAND is quite an interesting game and will catch you as it’s something different from the games you play usually. Harts Island is a short narrative walking simulator. It’s set on beautiful but horrific land of Harts Island where more than one million buried Americans reside. You have to find fragments of how an actor ended up as nameless dead. You will explore vast lands, distant planets and piece together a fractured life.

REVIEW : HARTS ISLAND (PC)

This game is short and when I mean short like you can finish this game is like a maximum of 1 hour or so. It’s a vast land and game completely feel like a world drawn in someone’s sketchbook. The game is developed and published by ben lunatic. The graphics of the game are quite impressive for what they have done. They feel like something out of an art book of a great artist. The game starts with the player being in a house-like structure. After playing a minute or 2 a narrative will begin with a black screen and then suddenly you are in white space like place looking at wormhole or something that slowly expands and becomes a door or some sort as the narration goes. And from here the real game begins. When you will walk through the game you will see many random things around like a sofa with speakers on its side. You will get the complete story of the game in this 1 narrative that will continue for the whole game and at times it gets irritating like stop for some time bro. Sometimes you will come across weird things like a ufo or something which puts a nice effect to the game. And when you enter this ufo a constant narration will continue explaining some more of the back story. You are free to roam around the world while gathering and learning everything that there is to at your own pace. As you roam around you will find multiple radios which will have some narrations playing on them of different people. the voices in-game are quite clear and keeps the interest alive. But there isn’t much to do in this game, you are just simply roaming around doing nothing and that too with all black and white graphics. You are just roaming around listening to the various speaker and various audios. Although these audios are interesting at times you will start to lose interest in all of them very quickly.

REVIEW : HARTS ISLAND (PC)

The background music is quite impressive and fits the theme of the game. It creates kind of a mystery and suspense in the game. It takes like a minor second for the game to shift after you jump through a gate.

REVIEW : HARTS ISLAND (PC)

Coming on to the graphics section the game requires a minimum of 8 GB ram and Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti, DirectX version 11, 5 GB of storage and windows 7. While the developers recommend windows 10 with intel i7, 8GB ram, Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti and 5Gb of storage. The game can run smoothly on 1080P at 60FPS without any drops. Even though the game looks like something out f a sketchbook the graphics and the way they are presented is amazing. The shapes of mountains, houses, ufos etc are very well defined and have to be appreciated. Moving on to the shadow effects they are very well defined for a game based on a completely black and white theme and it looks just amazing. Shadows on things like stairs, doors, arcs are just mind-blowing the sheer placement of them is respectful and I have to give credits for it. The structure of vegetation is quite distinct and really good you can differentiate between different trees and it does look like a big black smudge.

REVIEW : HARTS ISLAND (PC)

To conclude the review the game is amazingly stylish and, narratively intriguing all tied together with an incredible and amazing soundtrack. You have appreciated this game in many ways. You will not be able to figure out but this will keep you going. Yes at times the narratives will seem too much you would like to take a break from it but narratives are good. I do think the story of the game can be improved a bit but all in all, games are held together quite good, with a perfect blend of various elements. I would suggest you buy this game. It’s a short game you will be able to finish this game in one sitting unless you want to drag it unnecessarily.
