Kickbeat is a rhythmic beat-em-up  by Zen studios.

Kickbeat is similar in style to Guitar Hero in that the player must press the correct button on the controller at correct time to beat up the enemy. Each enemy represents a different type of beat which sync with music pretty well. Big yellow enemies are single beats, blue  ones are half beats and reds attack two at a time.  features like points, chi power ups, health powerups and Chi mode which allows you to double your modifier prevent the gameplay from being monotonous.

You will beat enemies up in various different styles ,  as you track down a criminal mastermind who has stolen all the music in the world from the “Sphere of Music”. The levels are very colourful and different from each other that they keep you entertained for long. The story is comical and explains the plot well. telling about protagonist love interest and few humorous lines by Master Fu.

Kickbeat’s soundtrack accommodates various artists such as Blue Stahli, ENV (Of Electronic Super Joy), Rob Zombie, Papa Roach and quite a few other large and independent artists. It also features a“beat your own music” mode in which players are able to insert their own tracks into the game . Understanding the rhythm of song is very important otherwise there would be different rhythms for enemies and song, creating chaos. This system is also used in original in-game songs,  leading to enemies being off beat. This creates a disconnection of player from the gameplay.
