VooFoo Studios Developed and Published Mantis Burn Racing. Their previous projects had nothing to do with racing and Mantis Burn Racing has got far better response than their previous 3 projects.
Mantis Burn Racing is quite a decent racer. Mantis Burn Racing can be quite entertaining and offers wide variety of cars and tracks to enjoy. The variety in tracks could have been more but they are still enjoyable. Progressing through the game requires lot of grinding to unlock better cars and it becomes a loop after you have done this several times. Reversing the tracks does not help.
Mantis Burn Racing is a top-down 3D racing game with exceptional graphical presentation, proper keyboard controls, drifting, jumping with logical progression system with in-game currency ‘gears’ which can be used to purchase new vehicles with hardware upgrades. But to gather any significant amount of gears you need to grind and complete rookie league multiple times. The upgrades offer marginal performance boost and you can use some of them a single time. I played Mantis Burn Racing with a controller and a keyboard and too be honest I prefer Keyboard as the controls are so responsive and accurate but the inability to rebind them is disappointing. Still the game runs fine even without the need of a controller. Still, I would like VooFoo Studios to add more tracks in the future and also the ability to rebind controls.
The Graphics are top notch for a top down racer and running the game maxxed out is a sight to see and play. Desert and city track look the best. Some tracks offer endurance to test while in others it is a joy to drift especially when you unlock the better cars.
