REVIEW : Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition (XBOX one X)
“Tales of” Series has always been a massive hit for Bandai Namco but The Tales of Vesperia which was released in 2008 is the most cherished by many of the fans. A decade later Bandai Namco has decided to release the game on all major platforms.
The definitive edition has lot more content over the original game plus various graphical improvements and bug fixes. This is the definitive version to play.
Tales of Vesperia features one of the best stories in a Tales of series. The game begins with protagonist Yuri trying to fix lower quarters problem but ends up in trouble and then begins the journey for Yuri Lowell to uncover the true mystery behind Blastias.
Yuri will be joined by others in his journey along with his loyal dog. The combat system has aged well and game feels modern.
Tales of Vesperia is not much different compared to other ‘tales of’ games, the progression and battle system are similar to the other ‘tales of’ games. The main quest is quite lengthy but the game also includes side quests which provide change of pace. The game takes around 60 hours to complete.
The game features updated resolution and runs in HD resolution instead of any 4K enhancement.
The content which previously did not release outside Japan has been included in the game with locations to visit.
You can play the game in original Japanese audio which you can switch to at the beginning of the game.
Performance is very good on XBOX one X, there were no dips or glitches during the playthrough. Just that loading new areas takes time.
