REVIEW : The Falconeer – The Hunter (PC)

The Falconeer is challenging and well-executed dogfighting and exploration game with a unique twist: you control a beautiful falcon. Aerial combat has become something of industry lost art, with games like Crimson Dragon doing their best to pay homage to classics like Panzer Dragoon — but one pitfall they’ve fallen into is trying to fit an established mould rather than developing a new one. The Falconeer breaks free from such constraints by utilising the concept of a flight-based combat game but making it an open environment rather than a more closed-off one that restricts what you can do or where you can go.

REVIEW : The Falconeer – The Hunter (PC)

The Falconeers are huge falcons armed with weapons that are seeking to eliminate other factions with a little turf warfare being the underlying storey being portrayed. The narration is interspersed throughout the action and between missions, with text boxes that expand on the lore. One thing to keep in mind is that, though the environment is opened up to you, it is mostly empty — which reminds me of Crimson Skies, which had a lot of areas to walk around but also had more structure to the action if you wanted it.

The Hunter becomes the DLC

The Hunter is the title of the most recent DLC for The Falconeer. It introduces a new class that allows players to fly on the back of a dragon. The Falconeer The Hunter DLC also introduces a new manner for players to approach flying combat situations. Pyro Pots can now be launched against foes. These will lock on to your adversaries and burn them out of the sky. These ferocious projectiles can be upgraded at any of the stores located in the settlements surrounding The Great Ursee. The Pyro Pots may be seen in action in the DLC clip above. The Hunter is a Falconeer premium content pack. It also includes several free additions and quality-of-life changes that should help to make this great game even better. Players will be able to take flight on powerful dragons, making the game more appealing than ever to a wide range of gamers.

Of course, the Hunter includes a slew of free Falconeer features, such as broad balancing tweaks, map improvements, custom waypoints, enhanced player models, making Pyro Pots available from the start, and extra Pyro Pot upgrades.

The Hunter DLC isn’t solely focused on flying dragons. It also features a slew of quality-of-life enhancements. Many balancing changes have been implemented, as well as map upgrades. Custom waypoints can now be added to the map. In addition, the player model has been enhanced to make photo mode even more impressive.
