REVIEW : Worbital (STEAM)
Developed by Team Jolly Roger, you begin Worbital with a race similar to humans and a tutorial that is enjoyable and lays the backdrop perfectly for the world.
The world is lacking resources to fulfill its needs and to counter this, the world-built weapons to destroy planets and asteroids to generate the resources. These resources though are not enough so a colony is launched into space to populate other planet and provide resources. The new world wages a war with home planet hence creating 3 factions.
You play commander of planet and your job is to build and upgrade turrets by collecting money. The turrets can be placed on 8 locations on each planet which affect the efficiency of the turrets which is also affected by planets position. Turrets and buildings can be upgraded to have greater stats. Turrets have different firing range and projectile so that also needs to be under consideration while aiming at opponent.
As you destroy the enemy’s world, you reveal their planets core, if you destroy that you win the game.
Each race has their own set of weapons and buildings which plays an important role in multiplayer matches which are loads of fun. A lot of strategy is required to build building and manage resources. The multiplayer features, free for all and team based modes, nice variety which will keep you hooked.
