REVIEW : World Splitter (PC)

It’s been a bit since I last updated the World Splitter preview. However, it still feels like a unique experience when I play it now, unlike any other puzzle game I’ve seen before. The narrative of a super-cute alien and his crew who have wrecked their spaceship is told in World Splitter. The player assumes the role of the captain, who is attempting to save all of his brightly coloured crew members that are distributed around the various levels. To get through the level, you’ll need to figure out how to manipulate the void between two dimensions. This may appear to be a daunting task, but the captain can turn and rotate a world-splitter line. This line will allow you to reveal sections of two separate dimensions, such as platforms and walls, to assist you in navigating the level and collecting your fluff balls crewmates. After you’ve gathered all of them, proceed to the exit on the right-hand side of the screen.

This 2D puzzle platformer is a bright and colourful game that is far more challenging than it appears. The game pushes you into a lot of dangers that you may not see until you start playing. World Splitter is chock-full of brain-teasing puzzles that will both challenge and frustrate you. There are several dangers to avoid, like lava and water pits. In addition, some spiky adversaries come at you at a surprisingly fast pace. You may believe that you can leap over them at first, but this is not the case.

Especially when you’re first starting, and your jump height is only a few pixels high. Good luck getting rid of the adversary. You won’t be able to clear them, so you’ll have to flee or use your handy world-splitter line to expose a pit or a wall to confine them in their current location. Be cautious when using the splitter-line because it has the potential to harm you. If you don’t pay attention to the angle of the dividing line when you reveal the second dimension, the walls that arise can crush you. It took me a few tries to figure out what angle the line needed to be in to reveal or cover the hazards you’re attempting to avoid.

To bring your guy to where he needs to be, you’ll need to move the line in the exact right way. When you realize you can’t rely on jumping up to get to where you need to go, you’ll have to get creative to develop a new strategy to get the alien to the goal.

Two dimensions are combined to generate the stages. Each level has a unique appearance and feels, with a pleasant and colourful style. This is most likely to keep you cool and comfortable while you’re frantically trying to answer the puzzle in front of you. Distinct opposing colours are used in each dimension, as well as different seasons and situations. Each dimension’s layout is distinct from the others, making it simple to distinguish between them. For example, where one dimension may contain a pit, the next may only have a level ground or a wall, requiring you to rotate and move your line to clear a passage for the captain. When you change your line, keep an eye out for any potential risks or opponents that may be revealed. When the designs and colours of this new dimension are combined, they produce a unique and attractive image worth the time and effort it took to create.

REVIEW : World Splitter (PC)

World Splitter has six separate worlds, each with ten levels for you to scout and explore to locate all of your missing crew members. They are as adorable as they are, but they appear to be quite lazy because they are just standing there waiting for you to save them. However, they could lend a hand and, at the very least, get closer to you! As you go through the first world, the second and following worlds will become available. Each of these worlds is distinct, with its own set of difficulties to keep things interesting and varied. If you don’t watch the cutscene that appears before the level, you can get confused about what you need to do to complete it successfully.

If you get stuck on a level while playing, you can switch to one of the other worlds you’ve unlocked if you need a break. If the captain cannot save the small critters, don’t be concerned; you will not fail the level. As you progress through the game, the alien will learn new skills that will come in handy when you challenge previously completed stages and rescue any critters you may have missed. Until then, it implies that you will not receive all of the benefits of saving all crew members. Instead, you’ll be rewarded based on how long it took you to accomplish the stage and how many times the world-splitter line had to be rotated.

If you thought World Splitter was difficult at first, I’m warning you now that the levels will become more difficult. If I got stuck, I would usually go away and return to the level later. If you wish to play World Splitter with a buddy and solve the puzzles together, you can do so in co-op mode. However, I have a hunch that this could sometimes be more of a hindrance than an assist.

REVIEW : World Splitter (PC)

World Splitter is a stunning puzzle game that is unlike any other I’ve ever played. The puzzles are challenging and demand you to think, so if you’re not in the mood for a thinking game, you might want to hold off on challenging it.
