Subnautica Released on Xbox One & PS4

Subnautica was originally released on Steam as a barely-functional prototype. From those humble beginnings, this underwater adventure has grown and grown.

Thanks to the feedback, encouragement, and patience of our Steam players, Subnautica has matured into a solid game. Later, those brave Early Access souls were joined by other intrepid explorers in Xbox Game Preview.

Together these two groups shaped Subnautica. Today Subnautica was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Without the faith and engagement of all those players, we never would have made it to this milestone.

This is our first console release. It is a whole new world. We are simultaneously excited and terrified. Along with our Steam & Game Preview players, we would also like to thank all of you who have shared Subnautica with your audiences. If your audiences include console players, we hope you will consider sharing our release news with them.

Now it’s back to work. We are cranking on Below Zero, the standalone expansion that is the next chapter in the Subnautica story. We’re also working on post-launch updates for Xbox & PlayStation to fix some bugs that crept into release.
