Team Envy Returns to Competitive Halo

A new era of Halo esports is coming and Team Envy has announced its return to competition, signing a team for future Halo Infinite competitive play. Halo Infinite is the upcoming title in the iconic shooter game franchise releasing in 2021. Team Envy, which is owned and operated by Dallas-based Envy Gaming, has previously fielded teams in professional Halo and returns to the scene with a star-studded roster and multiple familiar faces.

“We enjoyed some great accomplishments with our involvement in Halo from 2015 to 2018, but we’re hungry to add a World Championship title to our name,” said Envy Gaming Owner and Chief Gaming Officer Mike Rufail. “That’s what we’re here to do this time around. We’ve got talented players who we’ve worked with before, brought in new talent, and are going to give this team the best possible training center and resources from our headquarters in Dallas.”

The current Team Envy Halo roster comprises four veterans and a former pro player transitioning into a coaching and management role:

Justin “iGotUrPistola” Deese is among the winningest players of all time in Halo esports, with nineteen major event wins including two MLG National Championships and one appearance at HCS Pro League Finals across a decade of competition

Tommy “Saiyan” Wilson is a veteran of the scene who is known for successful tenures with multiple organizations including World Championship appearances. Among these organizations is Team Envy, where he competed in 2018

Joey “TriPPPeY” Taylor is another former competitor returning to Envy. He has previously competed alongside Saiyan on Team Envy as well as on Luminosity Gaming

Bradley “aPG” Laws is one of the longest-competing players in Halo, having been active professionally since 2009. He has found success with a dozen teams, including Team Envy during Halo 5 competition

Alex “Swift Kill” Ramirez appeared at multiple championships and spent more than a decade as a competitive Halo player. He will take on a coaching and management role within the team

Team Envy will be competing on the world stage against other top esports organizations for tournament titles and major prize pools. More information about the new competitions will be available at a later date.
