We are excited to announce that the Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA relocalization patch is officially live for PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®Vita! The relocalization patch includes changes in the script, item names, in-game terminology, monster/boss names, graphical text, and fully re-recorded dialogue in English.

The patch file sizes for each platform are as follows:
PS4: 1.16 GB
PS Vita: 279 MB

For PS Vita users, the relocalization patch will be saved on the memory card and will overwrite the previous patch. If PS Vita users have the digital version, it will take up extra space in the system/memory card. If PS Vita users have a retail copy, the patch will be saved on the memory card.

A part of the Ys video game series, it first released in Japan for the PlayStation Vita in July 2016, and worldwide for the PlayStation 4 in 2017. A Microsoft Windows version is currently in development, and a Nintendo Switch version is scheduled for release in 2018.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Japanese: イース VIII -Lacrimosa of DANA-) is an action role-playing video game developed by Nihon Falcom. A part of the Ys video game series, it first released in Japan for the PlayStation Vita in July 2016, and worldwide for the PlayStation 4 in 2017. Ys VIII was unveiled in August 2014 on SCEJA Press Conference, with the game’s release date announced in 2015 for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. The game was first announced at the end of 2013. The game title was announced in December 2014, with the released date delayed to Q2/Q3 2016. It is the first game in the Ys series to release for PlayStation 4 as well as the first time that Falcom worked on a PlayStation 4 title.

On January 25, 2017, Nihon Falcom announced that Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana’s first-print copies and pre-orders for PlayStation 4 would include an art book for Ys VIII, as well as one for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III. One month before release Falcom announced the PlayStation 4 version went gold. On September 12, NIS America released a statement saying the Microsoft Windows version had been delayed to improve gameplay and translation quality, which the console patch for the later announced for January 30, 2018.

The game will be ported and published by Nippon Ichi Software for the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2018. The game comes in both standard edition and a limited edition with several collectibles.
