“Blood Moon”, the new world of Summum Aeterna that you can now also play on Epic Games Store
The Roguelite title developed by Aeternum Game Studios keeps getting bigger and has just received its second major update “Blood Moon”, a patch already downloadable on Steam and adds countless hours of new content to the adventures of the King of Darkness in Summum Aeterna.
The developers warned that the game would receive monthly updates, and August is no exception. Their community can now enjoy “Blood Moon”, a second major update that introduces a new world, a new final boss, a new NPC, several weapon and enemy performance improvements, and more combat and world customization options. This is the biggest update Summum Aeterna has received to date. Take a look at the teaser:
“Dark Castle” is the world that gives title to this patch and joins the 2 already available, adding 2 exclusive areas to the total of 4 since launch day. This new gothic-themed world gives huge Castlevania vibes in its atmosphere and level design. Divided into two zones, the surrounding town and the inner chambers of the fortress, the Dark Castle takes the player to a series of oppressive settings plagued by undead creatures, rivers of blood and a nightmarish atmosphere that will give you goosebumps.
The bestiary of the 2 new areas includes 9 different enemies with unique mechanics and behaviours. The design of these creatures follows the artistic line of this new gothic world, and their final boss puts the finishing touch on a cast of nightmarish enemies. Count Xander is an old acquaintance of the King of Darkness, and will also be familiar to players who have beaten the previous 2 final bosses, as he is the vampire that appeared right on the final screen. The fight against this lord of the night promises high doses of action.
Among the additions in this update is a new NPC called Usnar Ali, who acts as a banker in the main lobby of the game, allowing players to exchange their resources. New genes have also been included to multiply the variety of scenarios and situations in each new adventure. Particularly noteworthy are those that allow enemies to trigger status ailments in the main character… Be very careful when germinating seeds that contain these genes!
The new Summum Aeterna update comes loaded with content. To wrap up the rest of the surprises that await in Blood Moon, new conversations with Death and two new jinxes have also been added to his spinner. There are 4 new gems available to customize your weapons, and a new seed difficulty progression system has even been included.
Summum Aeterna is available on Steam at a reduced price of 15.99€ / $15.99. And as a novelty, the game will be available on the Epic Games Store in the next few hours at the same price and also in Early Access. Soon Epic users will enjoy a version of Summum Aeterna that includes all the updates the game has received to date, including Blood Moon and its new world.
