Digimon World: Next Order Review :- Digimon World: Next Order is very much similar to the original PlayStation releases and can be seen as the redo of classic titles in the way current generation would like it to be. The game is firstly a pet simulator and a Role Playing Game second. Some may find this alluring and others may find it as the negative point of the game depending on their liking towards statistic management or care of creatures.

The game features a basic story line where humans are induced into the Digital World and are forced to take on Machinedramon. But, this story is actually a framework for the main attractions of the game which are caring and raising Digimons, making them battle each other and evolve them. There are about 251 Digimons in total in the game.

You play this game as a Tamer who recruits wild Digimons and make them live inside the ever-expanding city called Floatia. You can also upgrade this city with latest and robust features and facilities for improving the efficiency. Gradually upgrading the city and improving the structures and facilities in it is both strategic as well as rewarding. Apart from building your town, you can also do farming as well as fishing.

The framerate of the game and the colourful graphics make the game palatable but the world map is, most of the times, plain and empty. But, you will get plenty of opportunities for combat and mining for resources. Tamers can interact with each other by shouting and can also help each other by throwing HP recovery discs in the fighting arena.

Tamers can oversee two Digimon partners at a time, train them and evolve them. The Digivolution is quite tough and to be able to upgrade your digimons you need to have understanding of and remember various ratios, training regimen, and attribute levels. Training of the Digimons is done with the help of Roulette Wheel and Panel Grids. You also get awards bonus when you show particularly good timing or good reflexes.

But the game looks awfully outdated with the lack of guidance a player would normally expect in a game of such complexity. There are a huge number of menus with ambiguous directives and Digimons can literally die at any moment. You may be taking a very good care of them but if you fail so much as to provide breaks from food or toilet, they die.

It can take up to months for completing the game and each grind can take up to 50 to 60 hours. It gives you all the feelings of raising a virtual pet. You will feed them, praise them, scold them, and take them to bathroom. It is a very satisfying feeling for hardcore gamers and fans alike. But it needs to get more user friendly in the next version.
