NEW ROBO RECALL DEV DIARY: EVOLUTION FROM BULLET TRAIN

The latest Dev Diary takes a look at how how Epic Games’ acclaimed VR demo Bullet Train has evolved into the fully featured game that is Robo Recall, along with the challenges the team faced when trying to create compelling VR content.

UNREAL ENGINE SHOWCASE: BANDAI NAMCO DELIVERS A KNOCKOUT WITH TEKKEN 7

Bandai Namco’s Tekken series returns this year with the launch of the highly-anticipated Tekken 7. As part of the Unreal Engine Showcase, designer Michael Murray discusses development of the game along with the decision to use UE4. Tekken 7 will be launching on consoles and PC on June 2, 2017.

UNREAL ENGINE-POWERED GAMES ROUND OUT THIS YEAR’S D.I.C.E. AWARDS NOMINEES

This year’s nominees for the 20th annual D.I.C.E. Awards include a diverse mix of Unreal Engine-powered games. From fighting to strategy, this year’s nominees demonstrate the power and versatility of Unreal Engine. Highlights include XCOM 2 (Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year), ABZÛ (Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition), Gears of War 4 (Action Game of the Year) and Street Fighter V (Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Fighting Game of the Year).

The 2017 D.I.C.E. will take place Thursday, February 23 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

POWERED BY UE4, AVEN COLONY COMING TO CONSOLES

Mothership Entertainment and Team17 recently announced a new partnership to publish futuristic city-builder, Aven Colony, to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Set on the alien world of Aven Prime, players can customize and build their own extra-terrestrial colony, all while encountering alien life and dealing with the challenges of an unfamiliar solar system.

Powered by UE4, the Aven Colony beta is available via itch.io, with the full launch coming in Q2 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
