Esports Stadium Arlington readies to host Dallas Fuel Kickoff Clash tournament (June 2-5)
The Overwatch League is headed to Texas, marking the first stop in the global esports league’s fifth season with competition at the Dallas Fuel Kickoff Clash presented by Favor held June 2-5 at Esports Stadium Arlington. Eight teams from the West region, which spans North America and includes the hometown favorites the Dallas Fuel, will qualify to compete at the tournament for a prize pool of $225,000. Thousands of fans in attendance will get the first chance to see their favorite teams and players compete on the arena stage in multiple matches over multiple days of Overwatch 2, the much-anticipated video game sequel in the Overwatch franchise. Overwatch 2 betagameplay will also be available to fans onsite at Esports Stadium Arlington.

Texas-based on-demand delivery service Favor, which sponsored the first-ever esports homestand weekend in 2019 and is a multiyear partner of the Dallas Fuel team, recently signed on as presenting sponsor of the event. The event sponsorship is incremental to Favor’s team deal with the Dallas Fuel, which includes Favor’s designation as the Official Delivery Service of the Dallas Fuel, and the brand plan to activate onsite with fan giveaways and VIP experiences.
Each day of the four-day tournament, one fan will win a VIP seat upgrade, signed Dallas Fuel jerseys, and an exclusive Swag Bag by participating in the Favor VIP Experience contest – all fans must do to enter is scan a dedicated QR code on their ticket. Favor will offer all fans in attendance access to an arcade, claw machine games, and the fan-favorite sign making station at their onsite booth.
Additional fan and brand activations onsite include:
- Exclusive meet & greet with Gaku Space, voice of Overwatch hero Genji (this event is ticketed).
- Cosplay Photo Station – Overwatch themed cosplay is encouraged and welcomed at the event, with appearances by special cosplay guests including Frostbite Cosplay and opportunities for fans to snap photos with their favorite Overwatch themed props.
- Aim Lab Challenge – Fans can compete in Aim Lab’s training courses to achieve the daily high score and win exclusive prizes from the Dallas Fuel and Aim Lab.
Jack Link’s and Aim Lab are also sponsoring the event. Doors open at Esports Stadium Arlington, the largest turnkey esports facility in North America, for the Dallas Fuel Kickoff Clash presented by Favor on Thursday, June 2 at 1 p.m. Bracket competition dependent on team seeding will follow throughout the weekend with the championship match scheduled for Sunday, June 5 at 3:30 p.m. CST.
North Texas is no stranger to hosting live esports events; in 2019, Envy Gaming hosted the first home team matches in front of a live crowd to a sellout crowd of 4,000+ attendees per day. Esports Stadium Arlington is now operated by Envy Gaming, the Texas-based esports and entertainment company that owns professional esports teams, operates content networks, and maintains a live and digital events business. Esports Stadium Arlington previously hosted the 2022 Call of Duty League Major I, 2021 Call of Duty League Major IV and Major V, as well as opening weekend for the 2020 Overwatch League season.
