Nexon Group Announces Details of ‘Nexon Developers Conference 17′, One of the Largest Conferences for Game Developers in Korea
NEXON Co., Ltd. (“Nexon”) (3659.TO), a global leader in online games for PC and mobile, today announced that its consolidated subsidiary, NEXON Korea Corporation (“Nexon Korea”), will host Nexon Developers Conference 17 (“NDC17”), one of the largest conferences for game developers in Korea, at Nexon Korea’s offices and local facilities for 3 days from Tuesday April 25 to Thursday 27, 2017.
Nexon Developers Conference, which was first held in 2007, brings together game developers from around the world to share their game development and operation experience as well as their expertise. The event has been open to the public since 2011 and has become one of the largest conferences for game developers in Korea, with more than 20,000 participants and over 100 sessions.
At NDC17 – which is in its 11th year – 121 sessions on wide-ranging topics including art, game development and marketing to careers are scheduled to be held. This year, VR-related sessions are scheduled, and visitors will also be able to learn about game trends in Korea. In addition, Enseok Lee of Nexon Korea, who oversees the development of the mobile game Durango, will conduct a keynote session entitled “Game Development in the Age of the Fourth Industrial
Revolution.” Haksung Lee of Blizzard Entertainment will present “Hero Creation Process and Technical Art for Popular First Person Shooting Game Overwatch,” and Timur Haussila of
Supercell will lecture on the company’s game development process.
This year, speakers from Japan, including Kazuhiro Echigoya from KOEI TECMO GAMES and Yusuke Kumagai from Crypton Future Media are also slated to appear.
