PACKED WITH REFERENCES TO THE EIGHTIES ON VR, ESCAPE FROM GALAXEN PRESENTS ITS FREE ALPHA

It’s 1985, you are 9 years old and you have been abducted into your favorite arcade game, Galaxen. Anyone’s fantasy! Fight your way through waves of space invaders, use the toys in your backpack as an arsenal to stop the alien invasion and return home in time for dinner. What an adventure!

And you’re in luck, ‘cos this wonder of a game for virtual reality exists and it’s called Escape From Galaxen. It is the first title from the Spanish studio Ramen Profitable Games, and its free Alpha is now available on SideQuest. The launch is scheduled for the end of the year.

The free Alpha content On the free Alpha, now available on SideQuest, you will play in the United States the first of the worlds with increasing difficulty that you will find in the final version of the game, and you will face the classic end-of-stage boss that every good arcade must have. You will also use an arsenal of cool weapons that you will surely recognize with these descriptions – We cannot use the original names or we would have legal problems – I have the power! Or the famous Zappah we used to shoot the (pixelated) dog that laughed in our face, among others. Cool plan, isn’t it?

About the development The team is very aware that this is going to be their first published title and that they still have a lot to learn. Therefore, their strategy is to find a simple premise that can lead to a very interesting and polished game, and that can end up becoming something that is really worth playing. They prototype several ideas and finally decide to create an immersive take on the popular concept of “you versus the aliens” that reigned the arcades of the ’80s, in which your favorite arcade abducts you in 1985. The development team adds some complementary profiles, and in a record time frame of 6-month, the alpha version of Escape from Galaxen is released.
