Thoughts
An intriguing encounter If you’re interested in playing “Golden Light” in its entirety, I’d definitely recommend it. Even while it might be eerie, fragmented, and quite perplexing at times, it has many characteristics of games that I often adore: Retro-inspired first-person shooter dungeon crawlers. Although the gameplay fundamentals are not entirely evident, this is not a deal breaker. Combating with weapons is practical since you can handle two weapons with your right hand while holding consumables on your left. Each time you play a run, the consumables take on new characteristics, and you must test them out or research them to learn what they do. You can consume anything, but most weapons only increase your health slightly.
Golden Light’s rough art style, distorted music, and liberal usage of the high-pitched tinnitus sound (which, due to a job injury, gives me bodily agony and anguish) make it incredibly unpleasant and difficult to appreciate.
As a prelude to the main experience, this specific game is free to download, so you have nothing to lose by giving it a shot. Although I don’t regret playing this game, I was already over it by the time I switched to the main game.
Simply because not everyone will enjoy playing the golden light experience, I’m going to recommend this so that people can do so BEFORE purchasing the main game.
