Harvest Days is a new open-world farming simulator with RPG aspects based on Stardew Valley and Story of Seasons.

Harvest Days is described as an “open-ended country-life RPG” in which players are tasked with repairing the run-down community of Duda’s Village. To do so, players will harvest crops, raise animals ranging from chickens, pigs, rabbits, horses, cows, and even some wild creatures, and buy and sow seeds and construct proper farm infrastructure in true farming sim form.

However, your work isn’t limited to the farm; the game will also require you to rebuild houses to attract new residents, generate jobs, trade with merchants, and upgrade existing infrastructures, among other things. With a mystery forest, many tunnels, dungeons, a temple in ruins, and even a swamp just waiting to be studied, the wide-open expanses at your disposal must also be explored.

Like the games it was inspired by, Harvest Days encourages players to interact with the community by hosting weekly events such as a street market, an artisan market, and other seasonal festivals. All of this allows players to meet people from different villages in the area. In addition, gathering materials, crafting products, fishing, and even bringing new critters onto your farm via the town’s animal rescue centre are all things you can do daily.

The game also places a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship, with various options for doing good for the environment, including forest cleanups, recycling resources to create renewable energy such as wind or solar energy, and other smaller choices like riding a horse instead of driving.

The game’s Kickstarter campaign will open around the end of Q3 2021, according to the father and son indie developers working on it, Family Devs.
