Discover HUMANKIND’s many Landscapes in Episode 2 – “Reimagining Terrain”

Following a birds-eye view of the project in Episode 1 – “Origins”, this second feature focus takes a deeper dive into the valleys, mountains, and gameplay aspects at the heart of Humankind’s terrain.

Rolling hills, barren flatlands, snowy, impassible mountains… these are some of Earth’s most stunning features, and ones that we wanted to recreate in an authentic and consequential way in Humankind.

These landscapes are meant to be more than just lovely, though — they are a pillar of Humankind’s gameplay. Moving through a valley will block your line of sight, attacking from higher ground will confer an advantage, and settling in different biomes give access to different strategic and luxury resources.

We could go on, but frankly we’d rather show than tell. So please enjoy this closer look at the land, vegetation and wildlife that bring the world of Humankind to life.

Next time in Episode 3, we’ll take a look at claiming and developing said terrain via the region system. We hope you’ll stay tuned!
