REVIEW : Detroit: Become Human (PS4/ PS4 Pro)
Detroit: Become Human is not like traditional video games, it is more of a drama set filled with likeable characters with amazing stories to tell.
Story follows three androids and Last about 15 or so hours. Kara, is a maid, Markus assists an artist and Connor assists detective in finding out why androids are not obeying commands.
The story of Detroit: Become Human tackles many of the wrong doings which are happening currently in the world like racism, drugs and child abuse to name a few in a story that is filled with many plot twists.
The choices you make play an important role in the story. The three leads rarely cross paths and present their story as a whole. Further your decisions impact how people around you interact with you.
Robots uprising is a story which has been done plenty of times but Detroit: Become Human presents it in a new light with very good plot points.
The basic gameplay is similar to previous Quantic Dreams games, choosing dialogues as scenes play out. Androids can stop time and look around for possible actions, actions which play out mostly using quick time actions.
Detroit: Become Human is exceptional with its camera angels, it mostly plays out as a TV show. On few occasions you will be shifting to first person view which is quite impactful when story plays out.
The facial animations and character designs are surreal and look almost life like and not video game characters. This game is a graphical power house which pushes PS4 to its limits. All the characters show exceptional detail and emotions.
Even the acting is spot on with every character played out superbly. The acting is essential part of the game as it pulls you into the immersion and the atmosphere.
The pacing of story in Detroit: Become Human is quite slow and every scene is very detailed to immerse you into it. There are good references to previous games to make you still realize that it is a David Cage Game.
The environment is immensely detailed and provides good representation of a future world with automatic vehicles, drones etc. The game manages to run at a smooth frame rate even on a standard PS4.
The soundtracks and music are so good with three different composers for three story arcs. The soundtrack just blends everything together for all three androids.
The game offers lot of replayibility options as you can revisit every important decision to try out other story branches in very well laid out menu for story branches. This is really important as you would love to revisit some of the decisions if your favorite character is in trouble.
You will be able to relate to the story in plenty of ways as the game touches every human emotion in variety of situations. You will feel delighted, sad, angry and that’s brilliant if a game is able to achieve that.
