REVIEW : Far Cry New Dawn (PS4)

Far Cry New Dawn is more of the same and quite literally, it’s the same Far Cry 5 map, it is the same mechanics that have worked well since Far Cry 3 and it is the same RPG elements which Ubisoft has been pasting in all their games. If you like more Far Cry, you will really enjoy this and if you feel Far Cry 5 was sufficient, then read till the end.

Far Cry New Dawn is first proper story sequel in Far Cry series and carries from Far Cry 5 ending 17 years later in post-apocalyptic hope county. The core mechanics are same as old games but they have been refined so much that every Far Cry game is enjoyable, New Dawn follows the suite.

Variety of ways in which you can tackle a situation still remains high, combat or stealth or mixture of the two, everything just works. With the addition of saw blade launcher, the game is even more fun with saw blade able to bounce of any surface and auto aiming towards enemy.

Villains in New Dawn are Highwaymen who are BMX riding, Rap music listening thugs who just want to destroy everything. Highwaymen move prisoners, ethanol and supplies around,all of which you can attack and gather.

After you have progressed enough, you will have the ability to go on expeditions on off-map areas which are smaller but tighter map which are more enjoyable to play. Further, you can upgrade your base, which enable you to craft better guns, improve AI buddy stats and take less damage. You can capture outposts to get ethanol with which you can upgrade your home base.
