REVIEW : Lucid Cycle (PS5)

Dreams are magical; they make us believe and imagine things. Every night once your mind stops, that is when your subconscious and unconscious mind begin to work. In this game, when the clock hits midnight, you will be taken to a different land where everything will feel strange but expected. It is all about what happens once we sleep and get teleported to a different world.

The game starts with a description consisting of puzzles and short plays, which are much more enjoyable. It starts as a walking sim. You are living in a modern world, and you go to sleep. Then you are taken to a peculiar place after you have slept. The strange new world feels different yet familiar and is very delightful and pretty. Those dreams play a vital role in the whole game. This game strives hard on the part of awakening from within.

REVIEW : Lucid Cycle (PS5)

The music is soothing, and the journey might feel a bit weird, but it is interesting. The game is slow, but you can enjoy this big new bizarre world closely in the time given. Here you will constantly feel that you don’t have any control over what is happening around you, as you are, after all, in a dream. The little details and the visuals are great, and the game is indulging. You will hunt animals, shoot foreign objects and explore the place. There is no timer so you can spend time according to your wish wherever you want. There are mazes and puzzles in the games, which are fun. These puzzles were not monotonous and were different every time. It can seem a little confusing at first, but you will learn as you move ahead. Nothing is straightforward, and you will have to figure things out yourself. You are required to do certain platforming and search items.

REVIEW : Lucid Cycle (PS5)

The strange land can give you mixed feelings. You can feel lost and can feel hopeful at the same time. There will be a time that you will return to the original world by waking up, and every time you sleep, you will enter this strange world. You are supposed to paint the picture of how the dream world seems to you, and for that, you will keep revisiting the dream world. The lucid cycle was able to capture the actual element of what it is like to be dreaming. It delivers a mix of strange places, different patterns and helplessness. The dreamworld seems to be very calming and quiet. The chapter changes while you are back to your home after waking up. This broke the monotony of the game. The dream world is composed in a way that it feels different and questions the mind. You will experience some surreal moments and some moments of danger.

REVIEW : Lucid Cycle (PS5)

Each dream consists of several tasks for every time you visit it. The audio is nicely composed and changes with changes in the landscape. The instructions are apparent, and the controls are responsive. This walking simulator game is simple and doesn’t require expertise, and you can even play the short games again. You are required to do tasks like collect or destroy stuff. There are going to be puzzled like rotating bridges made from human arms and getting through them.

review-lucid-cycle-ps5The dream world has some incredible visuals with good lighting and serene views. It's a short but engaging and enjoyable game. The obscure scenes and unanswered questions will leave you confused and will mess with your mind, and its short duration will leave you wanting more of it. It's that kind of a game that can be played for chilling after completing a challenging game, and it can be a great filler. Overall the game is smooth.
