REVIEW : NecroBoy : Path to Evilship (PC)

In the video game NecroBoy: Path to Evilship, a young necromancer sets out to become the greatest Lord of Evil. He’s using his evil abilities to resurrect his NecroMinions to carry out his commands and solve puzzles so that they can enter the tomb of his iconic hero, NecroMan!

REVIEW : NecroBoy : Path to Evilship (PC)

The Next Lord of Evil’s backstory?

Follow NecroBoy and Lackey, his recently revived servant! They might disagree about the term “servant,” though. even in relation to Lackey. It won’t stop them from learning from one another, though; NecroBoy’s reasons for choosing the path of evil will be what binds their fates together.

A Mysterious Crypt!

NecroBoy will encounter many challenges as he explores the crypt! He’ll either do it himself or at least have his NecroMinions do it.

This game is free of violence! Goddammit, NecroBoy is only a young child.

REVIEW : NecroBoy : Path to Evilship (PC)

The game cannot advance past the app loading screen due to a problem that we have identified. As soon as the game is playable, we will let you know. We are looking into the problem.

Necroboy is a fantastic minions-themed puzzle game. You probably already know that I enjoy games in which you command minions to carry out your tasks if you’ve read my reviews for a time. I have no idea why, but I genuinely do. Although Necroboy is a little rough around the edges, I still had a lot of fun playing it.

In Necroboy, using the minions for anything besides puzzle-solving is prohibited. This is OK in my opinion because it prevents you from witnessing the minions’ sad demise, as in Pikmin, for instance. The tasks begin quite simply but become more difficult as the game progresses… and then there are those “weird levels” (you can find the entrances to those levels at the beginning of levels 9, 18, and 26). Those levels are in an entirely new world, and I was unable to solve the riddles there since they were simply too difficult for me.

REVIEW : NecroBoy : Path to Evilship (PC)

It is a little unpleasant that you have to put all of your minions to “sleep” (Is it truly sleep?) and then try to wake up just one of them if you want one, so I hope the game gets some additional quality-of-life features. That is one of the more difficult game mechanics that initially looks unnecessary and can be a little aggravating.

None of the accomplishments can be missed. You may obtain almost all of them by simply finishing the game. The ones that require the most effort are those that require finishing the strange levels because those levels contain skins. If you are skilled at solving this type of puzzle or when using a guide, I believe unlocking them all may take about 6 hours; otherwise, it may take a little longer.

review-necroboy-path-to-evilship-pcI really enjoyed playing Necroboy: Path to Evilship. I'm hoping someone can figure out those "Strange" stages so I may return to the game and complete the remaining achievements.
