REVIEW : Neighbours back From Hell (PC)

If we look back many years, Neighbors from Hell was one of the most simple but popular games. A simple work, far from any special complexity, that simply challenges the gamer’s interest in implementing evil jokes. The experience of this work was unique in its time. There were a few games that, while challenging the gamer’s mind, add a touch of humour. Now, more than seventeen years later, we are witnessing the release of a remastered version of this series on current platforms. The name of this game has now been changed to Neighbors Back From Hell.

First of all, it should be said that the production team of this remaster has not made any serious changes in the gameplay and story. The gamer in this game will appear in the role of a fairly normal neighbour named Woody. Woody lives next door to abusive families. This family is called the Rottweiler. After much harassment, Woody decides to take revenge on the Rottweiler family. This harassment is followed in the form of funny jokes. Woody also contacts a team of documentarians to record all of these jokes and their consequences. There is not much to expect from the Neighbors Back From Hell story. The partial story of this work is merely a small base for implementing its steps. There is no radical change in the gameplay as mentioned. Although this may not be necessary. At each stage, the gamer enters Rottweiler’s house. The gamer must then study Mr Rottweiler’s behaviour. He is a patient character who does repetitive tasks throughout the day. After a few minutes of understanding the routine, the gamer can use the tools he finds in the environment to arrange strange jokes. Neighbours Back From Hell actually include both versions of the game. Therefore, in some stages, in addition to Mr Ratweiler, we will see the presence of other members of his family. In the second version, we also saw new environments.

The difficulty also increases as you progress through the stages, but not in a way that makes the game impossible. In fact, it can be said that going through the stages of the game will put more challenge in front of the gamer. You can no longer complete a stage in just a few moves, and you must have a plan in advance to reach the end of each stage. This map could be a direct result of studying Rottweiler family behaviour. If you have a good memory, you can complete each step in just a few minutes. The creators of this remaster also made very small changes in the structure of the puzzles and the implementation of the jokes. Doing these tasks to implement a joke after a while seems very tedious. On the other hand, there are unique jokes at each stage that can be a lot of fun to implement. If you are one of those people who experienced the original versions at the time of the original release, Neighbors Back From Hell can be replicated very quickly! The structure of this game is based on puzzles that once you see the answer, there will be no more fun in it. If you have a good memory, you can complete each step in just a few minutes. REVIEW : Neighbours back From Hell (PC)

In terms of visuals, at first glance, there is no difference from the version that was released nearly two decades ago. Of course, there are changes to improve the overall game experience. The game can now run in full HD resolution and fully supports widescreen displays. Also, the frame rate for all animations has been doubled to give the gamer a much better feeling. Neighbours Back From Hell was expected to provide improved graphics compared to the original versions, but this did not happen. All the improvements in the visual part are related to the proper implementation in the new contexts and almost no additional work has been done in this part.

REVIEW : Neighbours back From Hell (PC)

Finally, it should be said that Neighbors Back From Hell has brought a package of past memories to gamers, which of course is repeated very quickly. This effect may be reminiscent of memorable days for older gamers, but gamers who have not experienced the game can enjoy it enough. Maybe a little change in gameplay, puzzles and more graphical updates would make this version a much better experience, but it did not happen
