REVIEW : Real Farm (XBOX One/ XBOX One X)
Real Farm is a farming simulator game out on PC, PS4 and XBOX one. We review the XBOX One version.
Farming Simulator games have steadily grown in popularity over the years with variety of games trying to get a piece of the pie. So, Real Farm has lot of competition in this regard.
Real Farm main mode is the campaign mode. The game begins with you placed in an American farm. You play as a farm worker whose first job is to plough the field with a borrowed tractor. Driving the tractor is satisfying and feels authentic. You plough the field by putting the tractor into plough mode. After ploughing the field, you can cultivate the land which you accomplish again with a tractor but this time a cultivator attached at the back. Spraying and harvesting also involves the same mechanics.
After you have earned sufficient amount of money you can start buying your own farm and machinery. Every action on field requires 20 minutes which initially may seem boring but as the game goes on and you see the cash rising, it gets addicting. Plus, you have to negotiate with different farms and shops to keep your business running, all of this involves strategy. Further if you do a number of jobs for a farmer you can buy their farm for cheap.
Career mode is very enjoyable but has a sudden steep difficulty curve and results in grinding. The game tasks you to buy a farm but for that you need to plough a lot of fields.
Real Farm offers everything a farming simulator could offer and it is over all a satisfying experience. Veterans of farming games will feel right at home but new comers will face a tough challenge as the game does little to help new comers. Though the relentless workload will get you accustomed quickly but the seemingly never-ending grind could be a turn off.
Graphically Real Farm is among the best looking farming games. The overall presentation is bright and shiny. Plus, the sound and background music are top of the line for a Farming sim.
