REVIEW : Shivering Hearts (PC)

It’s time to put the game known Shivering Hearts under the microscope and see what this game is all about. Shivering heats is developed and Published by Mischa. The game is released for both Windows and Mac operating systems. This game has a uniqueness when it comes to graphics of the game. The game is a role-playing game based on a story that is sweet, short, and full of humour. The game follows a story in which choices made by the players and their conversations with other characters will decide how the story will evolve. The game is based on a simple story concept with interesting characters having their backstories, personalities, and situations that keeps the players hooked for a long time. The only time you will face some problem is when you want to play this game, again and again, to get different endings even though dialogues may be different you will get the feeling that you will end the game on the same note as the last time.

Coming to the story of the game, the game is following two adventures one is our own, and the other is of our friends who’s name is Rin who are in a small town named shivering hearts. So the main objective is to find the reason why a lot of people are dying in this small town. To find the reason you will be conversing with different characters all of whom have different personalities and problems. Every character will act differently on what you say to them which makes the game interesting. They will take about 2 to 2.5 hours to complete but you will be intrigued throughout the story and even considering talking to all the characters. The writing part is a combination of serious and funny. And it will get some laughs out of anyone while making you think hard at times. The game knows the difference between serious situations and funny ones so the AI works well in that aspect. The game is interesting and keeps you interested throughout the game from start to finish.

REVIEW : Shivering Hearts (PC)

Shivering Hearts does have branching paths betting on what you tell people, that’s if the branching path was just a twig on the log of the tree. There are some noticeably different cut scenes that you will find every now and so but it didn’t seem to branch off to a different ending. Unless you create a drastic decision to go away from the village before resolving matters, then you’ll over likely end up on the identical path when. That isn’t to mention however that the new dialogue didn’t interest me, I just wanted more from a game like this, it seemed ambitious and assured about how complex and various things would be if you made different decisions, and in some aspect that’s true. However, for the foremost part, I found myself back on the identical old path most of the time

REVIEW : Shivering Hearts (PC)

The game does not have much replayability because the story is very direct in what it’s all about. The illusion that the game has painted of players’ choices matter will wear off pretty soon because but the developers did a great job in painting that illusion. In the end, it goes away because you will find that no matter what answer you give you will get the same set of situations. Even by choosing different dialogues, nothing changed as much apart from the ending. The game doesn’t compel much to try it again and again to get different endings.

Coming to sounds and graphics the game sand out in one of them that is graphics. There’s only a very small amount of variety to the music throughout the sport, but when there isn’t any music playing there are suitable environmental sounds that augment the sport. These only slightly form up for the way static all the backgrounds look, despite being hand-drawn. Everything is hand-drawn which makes this game stand out plenty quite most other RPG Maker games and shows how unique it’s with its visuals. Each character has their portrait after they speak, with lots of detail going into each of them showing what quantity effort went into the game’s visuals. It’s a shame that there isn’t much animation occurring within the background, making everything look very still and lifeless. Which is a drawback to this beautiful game.

The game has some pros like the beautiful graphics that are hand-drawn, the short and sweet story with the right balance of seriousness and humour, the freedom of choice that will have different consequences. Coming on to the cons the lack of animation just makes the game feel still and lifeless which is a back step for this game, there is this flaw in the end dialogues the games just assumes you have talked to some characters even though you might not and there aren’t many different endings as much as I expected.

review-shivering-hearts-pcTo conclude I think the game is really interesting, the writing is just on point and unique. Though the game gives the option to choose there aren't as many paths to choose which is not a good thing. The game is fun but you will not get the feeling to play this game again and again after 2 or 3 times and that's also stretching it. I would recommend this game but I think the price should be bought down a little currently its priced at Rs. 300. Do try this game it's unique and interesting to play.
