REVIEW : Sunset Overdrive (PC)

Finally, Sunset Overdrive land on PC and it has been worth the wait I must say. Sunset Overdrive is over the top Zombie adventure, you can even say it is infamous with zombies + humour. Killing zombies with bizarre weapons never gets old in the game and grinding through power lines is fun way to traverse the world. Grinding, killing, shooting all work well together and Insomniac games have nailed traversal on its head.

REVIEW : Sunset Overdrive (PC)

There is no steep learning curve, a single hour with the game and you would be using all the mechanics very smoothly. Also, the game not taking itself seriously adds to the fun. The game makes a joke about anything and everything, even the energy drink which caused all the mutations.

REVIEW : Sunset Overdrive (PC)

The whole open world is very well built and on PC is a sight to behold. The game is filled with vibrant colors and cartoonish art style which looks well on any screen.

Wide variety of weapons and ways to respawn surely never get old, plus, there is a huge variety of enemies for you to kill or get killed by. All in all, very fun package. Though the story is not anything you will write home about but still compliments the overall wacky nature of the game and is enjoyable throughout.

REVIEW : Sunset Overdrive (PC)

On technical front the game is very well optimized and plays well on wide variety of PC. Though the game lacks robust graphics customization settings and resolution support. I have a ultrawide monitor and I had to reply on hex editing the game executable to run it in 21:9 resolution, even then the picture is zoomed. Ah well, there is so much you can do with console exclusive port. The graphics from 2014 era have aged well and look splendid in some scenes but still Sunset Overdrive can’t match up against recent games like Odyssey graphically.

REVIEW : Sunset Overdrive (PC)

The game lacks multiplayer as compared the XBOX version, which is a sad deletion as this game on PC could have been ton of fun in co-op. To cover for this game features all the DLCs released till date.

REVIEW : Sunset Overdrive (PC)

The controls feel at home when playing with a controller but when keyboard and mouse are used, the feel limited or it feels the game is taking control of motion, very jarring experience.
