Thoughts

Right now, there isn’t a lot of variety in the dungeons. But the developer is churning out patches like crazy, and more material is on the way.

Either a single person or a group can play the game. However, playing as a group and using voice chat on discord for certain challenging missions is a blast.

Pros:

  • 1. Unusual item effects – The game’s strongest aspect is its interesting items, which have a variety of interesting abilities.
  • 2. Build crafting – Build crafting is a lot of fun because it combines special effects from gear and skills. I’ve seen a lot of intriguing builds that other folks have made.
  • 3. Free respecs – You may easily adjust your build when you acquire new equipment and talents by respeccing in town for free in between missions.
  • 4. Boss effects can be wacky but entertaining – In a 10-player game, boss dynamics get more disorganised as boss effects scale, but they are also significantly more entertaining.
  • 5. Good for both single and group play – fun for both solo and group play (some classes like priestess are a group focused though, so this is not true for all classes, although you never know with the builds people come up with)

Cons:

1. Variety in dungeon material – The part of the game where you explore the dungeon before the boss could use more mini-events, common enemies, elite enemies, etc. Right now, it seems like the wisest course of action is to ignore it and find the boss as soon as possible.

review-tor-eternum-pcA few insane boss effect combos - A few insane boss effect combos exist, however you can reroll map effects, and the developer has already toned down a couple of the unfun ones in the past few days.
