REVIEW : Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS4/ PS4 Pro)

Is Uncharted Lost Legacy a DLC or is it sufficient enough to be a Stand-Alone game?

While Lost Legacy does do anything different from previous Uncharted Games neither does it change from the tried and tested method of Uncharted series. The first two hours will help you feel at ease as it is same top-notch quality game you have come to expect from Naughty Dog with New protagonist. Lost Legacy is not as long previous Uncharted but it is filled with adventure and heart. If you liked previous Uncharted games you will surely love Lost Legacy.

In Lost Legacy main protagonist is Chloe Fraser – first introduced in Uncharted 2 as a rouge treasure hunter – in search of Ganesh’s Tusk. Your partner in the journey is Uncharted 4 villain, Nadine Ross, no longer part of shoreline, partnering with Fraser to make a quick buck. One of the best assets of Lost Legacy is that it shows what makes these two work together in search of treasure.

The Overall experience is quite similar to Uncharted 4. You explore the unexplored locales, hang cliffs, run through ruins and get familiar with the banter shared between the two leads. You are not the only ones after the treasure, Indian warlord and his army are after it too and the cat and mouse chase with them will continue throughout the journey.

Naughty Dog has mastered all the mechanics to make a great adventure game. Subtle markings in the surroundings help you identify the way forward, while the protagonist keeps dropping hints gesturing towards place to climb or jump. This game features more stealth compared to previous counterparts, plus hand to hand and gun combat are as tight as ever.

The initial part of the game resembles Uncharted 4, with vast open areas to explore on the jeep in the beautiful scenic environment. There are the usual secondary treasures to collect, pictures to take, squad of enemies to bring down.

You must have seen vegetation, jungles and rivers before but none so beautifully portrayed. The Waterfalls and the rivers are a thing to stop and look at. The attention to detail the characters have got is astounding, with scratches from fights to mud on their clothes, everything is done in amazing detail. We played it on PS4 Pro with a 4K HDR display and this is most beautiful game you will ever see.

The puzzles are harder than before and more fun to solve. There still are Lethal statues, jungle fire fights and cliffs to surpass, but the pacing is different, the style is different, the Chloe Fraser rendition of Uncharted.

The later part of game is fast paced and linear as you close in on the treasure. The set pieces are unbelievable but few and far between, there is also a chase sequence that leaves Uncharted 4’s effort into the dust.

The Game lasts over 10 hours and is filled with all the emotions you can expect from an Uncharted game. Lost Legacy gives you everything an Uncharted game can offer and then some.

The multiplayer is same as Uncharted 4 but adds some skins. Uncharted 4 multiplayer mode though lack luster still combines solid maps and traversal very well. The Lost Legacy also has Survival Co-op, which was added to Uncharted 4 late last year. Horde of enemies’ storm at you and your co-op partner as you go through waves of them. The new skins are also available to Uncharted 4 players.
