Visual Novel from Publisher DreadXP and Developer Akabaka Puts the Love in Lovecraftian Horror
DreadXP — an independent horror publisher and production company — is pleased to announce that its Lovecraftian dating simulator, Sucker for Love: First Date, is available now on Steam and Itch.io for Windows PCs. With Sucker for Love: First Date, DreadXP and indie developer Akabaka put the “love” back into “Lovecraftian horror,” tasking you with conducting occult rituals in order to win the affection of an Eldritch goddess in this subversive and bizarre take on the “otome” visual novel dating genre.
Sucker for Love: First Date stars a trio of bubbly Eldritch goddesses to “romance,” each with their own unique personalities and menacing auras. There’s Ln’eta, a cute Cthulhu-like entity that is an affectionate sweetheart with a jealous streak; Estir, the elegant self-proclaimed royalty loves the color yellow and the finer things in life; and last but not least, there’s Nyanlathotep, whom at first may be intimidating but has a certain je ne sais quoi that often leads to those around her being completely enraptured.
Your heart will race as you try to survive the many trials of Sucker for Love: First Date, with the fate of your soul at risk, in a cataclysmic quest to obtain a smooch. There may be many fish in the sea, but the goddesses of the Necronomicon are sinfully sweet!
