Two New Classes Join Swords of Legends Online in Update 2.0: The Firestone Legacy
As new threats and challenges reveal themselves, legends will rise to face them. The descendants of the Firestone clan and the spirit foxes are joining the roster of heroes in Swords of Legends Online, to protect the Floral Palace and restore peace to the world.
Swords of Legends Online, the stunning MMORPG from publisher Gameforge and partners Wangyuan Shengtang & Aurogon, is about to receive its biggest content update so far with Update 2.0: The Firestone Legacy releasing on February 24th, 2022. This update will remove the paywall and make the game available to everyone for free. This week, Gameforge detailed the two new classes joining the existing six which will be available to players when the expansion launches: the Fox Mage and the Warrior. Each one offers a unique playstyle and new lore that expands the rich tapestry of Swords of Legends Online.
Based on the Xianxia (“Immortal Heroes”) genre — a style of Chinese fantasy influenced by traditional myths and legends — Swords of Legends Online introduces a stunning world to be explored by a variety of legendary heroes. Steeped in rich lore, players immerse themselves in exciting stories for each of the classes, filled with magic, demons, ghosts, immortals, and treacherous perils, unraveling the over-arching story that connects its heroes. The introduction of the two new classes will take the epic adventure to new heights, unveiling new zones and delving more deeply into the lore that spans the reaches of Shenzhou.
Below are some detailed profiles of the new heroes that will be available in SOLO later this month, along with details on their class masteries sprinkled with lore and story aspects that define each one as a unique gaming experience. Whether you’re interested in a more tactical and supportive approach, a tough defensive build, or an agile and aggressive attacker, there will be something for all players to enjoy!
Fox Mage: Owing to the mixed blood of the Firestone clan and spirit foxes that courses through their veins, Fox Mages have an appearance that is half fox, half human. Wielding their soulforce-imbued Twin Branches, Fox Mages can enhance their attacks with poison and deal damage over time to their enemies. Their profound connection to nature also provides them with powerful support and healing abilities.
Warrior: Also descended from the union of the Firestone clan and spirit foxes, Warriors are gifted with remarkable physical prowess. This class is split into two sub-classes as follows:
- Crystal Warrior (male only): Crystal Warriors can harness the power of crystals to enhance their offensive capabilities, making their sword attacks more agile, or improve their defensive abilities by using runes to cast defensive spells.
- Spirit Warrior (female only): Spirit Warriors are masters of qi, trained to project the excess energy around them into their blades. This allows them to perform powerful, single target attacks or area of effect spells, or buff themselves and their allies.
Based on the legends that inspired the multi-award-winning television series, several movies, novels, and a series of games including the recent MMORPG Gu Jian Qi Tan Online—which first launched in China in July of 2019—Swords of Legends Online introduces a fully remastered edition of the popular AAA saga to a whole new audience in Europe and the Americas, presented in glorious, high-definition visuals designed to take advantage of modern hardware. Legendary warriors will play as one of six initial classes and embark on incredible quests, join forces with formidable allies to take down challenging foes, and rest their weary heads in a home among the clouds—easily accessible thanks to their trusty flying mounts!
Swords of Legends Online is now available for Windows PC via the official Gameforge client, Steam, and Epic Games Store with text language support in English, French, and German, and English or Chinese voiceovers. The game will be going free-to-play in late February 2022. The game will also become available for free in Russia and CIS with the release of 2.0: The Firestone Legacy, containing English text and VO. There will be a Russian release in Q2 2022 that will have Russian text with the option of English or Chinese VO.
