Team Envy and Dallas Fuel Add GameStop as National Sponsor

In a push to support the next generation of professional gamers and bring more gaming experiences to life, GameStop is launching a wide-ranging esports sponsorship, featuring a partnership with Dallas-based Envy Gaming. Envy Gaming, which owns the global Team Envy esports franchise and the Dallas Fuel team in the Overwatch League, will partner with GameStop to launch a series of gaming clinics for aspiring amateur gamers throughout the year. GameStop and Envy will also collaborate on fan engagement opportunities including contests, watch parties and player appearances.

In its 20-plus year history, North Texas-based GameStop has grown to be a worldwide leader in video game retail sales and a Fortune 500 company operating more than 5,800 stores in 14 countries across Europe, Canada, Australia and the United States.

“We’re excited to partner with GameStop at a point in time where everyone involved in gaming is starting to build for the future,” said Geoff Moore, president and COO of Envy Gaming. “Esports as a global sport and the accessibility of video games have the potential to positively impact billions of people through shared experiences, content and more. Having a partner in GameStop that makes sharing a passion for gaming a priority is the perfect way for Envy and the Dallas Fuel to connect with our fans in our home market in Texas and globally.”

Esports fans can expect to see Dallas Fuel head coach Aero and assistant coach Jayne participating at future GameStop Live clinics. In the future, GameStop’s Power Rewards users will be able to access exclusive sweepstakes and giveaways from Envy. The Dallas Fuel and Team Envy will also provide activation support as GameStop expands into programming around collegiate esports programs.

“We are aiming to become the local neighborhood hub for amateur esports and we are thrilled to collaborate with Envy Gaming and their players so they can help inspire and educate the gaming community at the grassroots level,” said Frank Hamlin, Chief Marketing Officer.
